The new BAC Business Center was inaugurated in Santa Teresa

Last Tuesday, March 4,was the inauguration of a new essential point in the map of Santa Teresa: a BAC Business Center. Various personalities from the area and from the financial institution came to witness the ribbon cutting, learn about the facilities and then close the day watching the famous sunset of Santa Tere in the Nantipa Hotel.

Laura Moreno, Vice President of Corporate Relations at BAC, expressed gratitude for the great reception and highlighted how important it is for BAC to boost business in rural areas and the commitment to sustainability.

Among the attendees, Mrs. Ana Cristina Quirós, Executive Director of the Chamber of Tourism and Commerce of the Blue Zone (CATUCZA), highlighted the importance of this new center for Chamber member businesses.

Mr. Harry Hartman also gave a few words on behalf of the Nantipa Hotel, where the new shopping center is located, and indicated how the opening of BAC in Santa Teresa can contribute to the sustainable development of the area and boost local employment.

The arrival of the Business Center in the area supports BAC's quest to strengthen the business ecosystem and improve the experience of its customers in the region. The modern facilities include a coworking area, meeting rooms, service through video calls and advanced equipment for cash management.

This new Center will allow both individuals and entrepreneurs and businessmen of Santa Teresa access agile and modern financial services, thanks to the fact that it has cutting edge technology.

From Santa Teresa Hoy, we were able to speak with Moreno about the goals of the entity for this new project. “This Business Center aims to accompany BAC clients in a digitalization process: it has a digital table and an expert professional in guiding clients step by step to confirm that many of the procedures can be carried out from the mobile platform, from home, office, or even from the beach, watching the beautiful Santa Teresa sunsets.“

She also stressed that it is not a simple transaction or procedure center, “it is a support and development center for the area.” In this way, it seeks to promote the local economy. “85% of the Business Center's employees are from the area. That makes us feel very proud because we are generating local employment, but also because they are people who know the inhabitants here much better, they know what they like and what they need; that allows us to adapt our proposal.”

Another of the objectives that the Vice President of Corporate Relations of BAC highlighted was the “possibility of helping small and medium-sized businesses reduce the use of cash, digitally optimize their business and develop more easily.”

The Santa Teresa Business Center reflects BAC's commitment to inclusion and sustainability. The branch is adapted to Law No. 7600 - Law on Equality Opportunities for People with Disabilities - and has an electric charger for vehicles. Furthermore, it has been designed to guarantee the comfort of clients and collaborators. It also incorporates responsible environmental practices, aligning with the commitment to making banking sustainable.

BAC continues to strengthen its presence in Costa Rica with an investment of more than $7.6 million in openings and remodeling during 2024. Among them, the inauguration of the first service point in Nicoya ($1.1 million), the new branch in Plaza Limón and more recently the Santa Teresa Business Center on the Nicoya Peninsula ($2 million).
